5 Kitchen Items to Avoid (and What to Own Instead) (2 of 2)

5. GLASS AND PLASTIC CUTTING BOARDS

There is no reason to own either a plastic or glass cutting board. In the case of plastic boards, they aren’t particularly sanitary and the feeling of cutting food on such boards is entirely unsatisfying. Knife on glass isn’t very appealing either.

What to get instead: Wood cutting boards

Thick, heavy wooden cutting boards are the best surface for cutting everything from fruits and vegetables to cheese and meats. Owning a few — one for each type of food — is a good investment as well. Best of all, they wash really easily.
