Given what dumb drivers we humans tend to be when we’re on the road, we’re glad resources are being poured into artificial intelligence rather than artificial stupidity.

In 2021, major advancements were made in natural language processing, which means improvements in how artificial intelligence understands the spoken and written word not just in terms of their meaning, but even tonality. This is beginning to allow for more accurate web search engine results based on context, and also results in chatbots and virtual assistants that can make sense of customer inquiries.
