2. He treats dates like he’s interviewing for a job

The insecure guy spends the entire dinner date talking about how impressive he is, instead of using the opportunity to let his personality shine. He lists off all of his supposed “achievements,” boasting about all of the things he brings to the table. But in truth, the girl just sits there bored out of her mind, wondering what it was that even made her agree to go on the date. When it comes to forming meaningful relationships, a little bit of humility goes a long way. 

3. He showers girls he hardly knows with pricey gifts

It’s one thing to get a girl a box of chocolates or buy her a novel by her favorite author, but a guy who overcompensates will opt for the most expensive iPhone on the market or a Gucci designer bag that costs thousands. It’s yet another “I like to throw my money around” flex that he thinks will melt her heart. Not only does it scream of desperation, but most girls also find it highly uncomfortable to receive an expensive gift from someone they are not yet in a serious relationship with.
