Later on, Lil Mama explained that the words moved him and mesmerized him. He felt compelled to jump in and walk onto the stage.

Kanye West’s Interruption

Even if you don’t watch the VMAs, you probably know of this event. It’s gone down in history to the point that this is a solid meme. It has also sparked a lot of contention, sparking a pretty crazy feud.

For those missing the details, this involves Taylor Swift winning her first ever VMA for Best Female Video. She was humbled about the award and was giving a speech, but part way into the speech, Kanye takes the mic from her to announce that “Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time.”

He was referring to the music video “Single Ladies”. Still, it made the moment awkward and Beyoncé to this day is embarrassed about this act and wishes to be excluded from this narrative.

Kanye’s Acceptance

The 2015 speech Kanye made was nothing short of weird. First Taylor Swift was the one to present the award to him. After that followed a 10-minute speech that was on point for Kanye, but weird for everyone else.

This speech entailed the aftermath of the 2009 debacle and Kanye announcing he’d run for president in 2020. Pity he didn’t stay true to his word.
