The One Iconic Action Movie Role That Nicole Kidman Regrets Taking

Nicole Kidman has built a remarkable Hollywood career, working with some of the industry’s most acclaimed directors, earning numerous prestigious awards, and taking on an impressive range of characters. From portraying celebrated literary figures to bringing emotionally complex women with deeply guarded secrets to life, she has consistently demonstrated her versatility and willingness to explore challenging roles. Kidman has also earned a reputation for making daring creative choices, even when the projects themselves receive mixed reactions from critics and audiences.
Still, not every role has left her completely satisfied. One movie in particular gave Kidman a huge dose of blockbuster fame, but very little to actually sink her teeth into. That film was the 1995 superhero adventure Batman Forever.
Directed by Joel Schumacher, Batman Forever marked a dramatic change for the Gotham Knight. After the shadowy, gothic atmosphere of Tim Burton’s two Batman movies, Schumacher took Gotham in a brighter and much more nipple-centric direction. Everything was bigger, louder, shinier, and packed with color.
Val Kilmer stepped into the Batsuit, replacing Michael Keaton, while Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones played the villains the Riddler and Two-Face. Chris O’Donnell joined the action as Robin, and Kidman was cast as Dr. Chase Meridian, a criminal psychologist who became fascinated by both Batman and Bruce Wayne.
