At such a young age, Jude Bellingham is already regarded as one of the biggest names in football. The English midfielder began his professional career with Birmingham City as a mere teenager before moving to Borussia Dortmund in 2020, where he quickly established himself as a force. These days he plays for Real Madrid, where he’s continued his rise at the highest level of the sport.
In seven years, he has already accomplished more than most players manage in their entire careers. But his journey to the top has been filled with some surprisingly unusual details. Here are 10 things you might not know about the England star.
1. As a kid he was more into flowers than football
It’s hard to believe now, but there was a time when kicking around a football was Bellingham’s second favorite activity during practice. In an interview with L’Equipe, Bellingham shared that when he was a child, instead of spending training sessions honing his football skills, he preferred picking daisies and making necklaces out of them to give to his mom, who was watching from the sidelines. His parents weren’t the type who forced him to play, encouraging him instead to do whatever he wanted on the pitch, even if that meant admiring the flowers.
