10 Fun Facts About Jude Bellingham (2 of 6)

2. His desire to win made him fall in love with football

Pretty soon Bellingham discovered that creating daisy necklaces did nothing to fuel his competitive streak. Even at an early age, he had a strong desire to win at whatever game he was playing whether it be tag or hide-and-seek. He hated losing, and he began to realize that if he wanted to become better than his opponents, he had to learn to respect them. This mindset has remained one of his defining characteristics on the football pitch.

3. He turned pro at 16

Bellingham joined his local Sunday league team, Stourbridge Juniors, when he was around seven years old. His father, Mark, coached him before he entered Birmingham City’s academy. He proved to be a quick learner. He made his senior debut for Birmingham City in August 2019, less than two months after his 16th birthday, becoming one of the youngest players ever to appear for the club.
