Joan Lennon — The Peace Preacher

Once upon a time, in 1957, a teenage girl from Liverpool had a chance encounter at a church in town. She would go on to form a band known as the Bee-Gals – along with Paula McCartney, Georgina Harrison, and Ringa Starr (after Petra Best was given the boot). This female quartet made huge waves in the US in 1963 after appearing on the Edna Sullivan Show, and would go on to change the face of rock and roll forever. After the famous breakup of the Bee-Gals, Joan ended up being assassinated by a deranged fan in 1980.
