The Most Popular Spring And Summer Fashion Trends Of 2021 (3 of 4)

Relaxed workwear

Casual Work Outfits Women, Clothing, Footwear, Jeans, Trousers, Shoe, Outerwear, Shoulder, Leg, Vision care, Sunglasses

Where a majority of people are still working from home, it is a bit surprising for most of us that workwear featured so much in SS2021. We saw a lot of practical but comfortable outfits that were designed along with some great separates that were easy to match with other outfits. Slouchy trousers were in high vogue as well.

Netting and holes

Quite an adventurous trend to find a mention in this post, nettling, and holes was the favorite of many designers. Jumpers and tops had quite a few holes in them at Prada, while Burberry trenches in netting were also popular amongst the audience.

Open backs

Beauty, Shoulder, Plant, People in nature, Day dress, Waist

Victoria Beckham and other designers were quite interested in showing off their outfits with open backs. And it seems to have worked for the audiences, with formal evening wear and beach outfits trending the most from the category.

Big sleeves

Shoulder, Joint, Outerwear, Shoulder, Neck, Fashion, Sleeve, Waist, Gesture

Puff sleeves seem to have taken off at the SS2021 as well. From large ballooned shoulders from Loewe to Altuzarra’s large trench coats, there was plenty of shoulder action going on this year.

Rising hemlines

Jacquemus Ss21, Hair, Shoe, Hairstyle, Leg, Human body, Sky, Knee, Flash photography, Dress, Neck

While the last few years have been all about midi outfits, there has been a slight reversing trend of designers flocking back to the cut-outs, bodycon, and even rising hemlines this year. Miu Miu, Jacquemus, and Louis Vuitton have all featured mini skirts as part of their SS2021 collections, with some classics such as the micro skirts from the 60s making the cut as well.
