Note Your Body Language

Getting deeper into the conversations, another aspect that’s important outside of verbal conversations is your body language. How you are presenting yourself both verbally and non-verbally plays another important role. In fact, your body language is likely more important than what you are saying.

Even though body language is something that seems out of our control, you can make some tweaks to it. These tweaks can make all the difference. For example, to show that you are interested in the conversation, don’t fold your arms, tilt your head towards them and lean in. These non-verbal indicators show that you are interested in what they have to say and want to hear more.

To ensure they’re interested, look for similar cues. If you find them folding their arms or have their feet pointed away from you, you should probably change the subject.

The point here is you can’t just tell someone that you’re interested. You have to let your body convey that as well in order for them to internalize the message. If you want to be giving off positive vibes, make a point of letting your body talk.

On the note of body language, mirroring your date’s behaviour also works wonders.

According to a study, people found more attraction to other people when their behaviour was mimicked. If you are interested in your date and you don’t know how to express it, mimic their behaviour instead.

Don’t Forget About Fronting

The idea of fronting is having your entire body facing towards your date. Like we mentioned above, people show their lack of interest in conversations when their feet are pointed away from the other person. As such, if you are facing them entirely and they are facing you, it shows interest in one another. All in all, it’s a great sign to be seeing.

Lean In

On the same note, leaning in general is a good thing to be doing. Leaning in shows that you’re attracted and want to be closer to the other person. If they provide the same, then it’s a good sign. This is always the case when standing up or sitting down as well. In the event they are sitting back or taking a step away from you, it shows they’re uncomfortable about the environment or the conversation.
