Top 10 Most Protein Packed Foods (5 of 6)

8. Quinoa

Contrary to popular belief, quinoa, often dubbed a “super-grain,” does not provide the highest amount of protein among grains. It also doesn’t contain sufficient amounts of leucine, so you wouldn’t want to rely on quinoa as your exclusive source for protein. That said, it is the only grain to contain all nine essential amino acids that the body can’t produce on its own, making it a perfect side to go along with chicken or fish.

One cup (185 g) of cooked quinoa provides 8 grams of protein.

9. Eggs

Eggs provided the most efficient source of protein. They are also a good source of vitamins, minerals, healthy fats, and cancer-preventing antioxidants. They’re easy to prepare and can be enjoyed in a variety of ways, whether they’re hard-boiled, soft-boiled, scrambled, fried, or as an omelette. Although egg whites are where the protein comes from, don’t forgo the egg yolks. They contain the good cholesterol that keeps your liver functioning properly.

One large egg (50 g) provides 6.3 grams of protein.
