Six Years Together: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Celebrate Their Anniversary

After a three-day visit to Nigeria, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary on May 19. Meghan and Harry were married on May 19, 2018, at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Their fairy-tale wedding was attended by family and friends, including Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

The couple then took a horse-drawn carriage ride around Windsor to greet the crowds and had a reception at St. George’s Hall before changing outfits for an evening celebration.

In their Netflix series “Harry and Meghan,” released in December 2022, they shared unseen wedding photos, including their first dance to “Land of 1,000 Dances” by Wilson Pickett. Meghan wanted the music to be fun, even for their first dance. A source described the night as a huge, fun dance party.

On their first anniversary in 2019, Meghan and Harry had a quiet celebration with Meghan’s mother, Doria, who had traveled to meet her newborn grandson, Prince Archie. Harry gifted Meghan an eternity ring, which she wore at Trooping the Colour, and Meghan framed her wedding speech for Harry. On their second anniversary, they exchanged cotton-themed gifts.

This time, Meghan and Harry visited Nigeria to support their Archewell Foundation’s mental health initiatives and promote Harry’s Invictus Games, which Nigeria joined last year. Harry expressed his joy at including Nigeria in Invictus, a place he holds dear. Meghan, who found out she is 43% Nigerian, described the trip as incredibly memorable and special.

“There’s only so much one can do from home and over Zoom, so we look forward to traveling more because the work matters. Whether it’s the Archewell Foundation, Invictus, or any of our other causes, there will always be reasons to meet the people at the heart of our work,” Harry said.

Happy anniversary to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry!
