Nestled in Egypt’s eastern Sahara Desert, close to modern Hurghada, lies the ancient Monastery of Saint Anthony. Established in the 4th century AD, this sacred site began as a gathering place for monks at the base of Gebel Al Galala Al Qibliya, drawn by the presence of their revered spiritual guide. Today, the monastery has evolved into a large complex, encircled by towering walls and housing several churches, a bakery, and a vibrant garden.
