6 Cheapest Cities in the World to Live In (4 of 4)

Zagreb, Croatia

Since Game of Thrones, we all discovered Dubrovnik/King’s Landing. Even though Croatia is a fairly cheap country, GOT did a number on them and since then Dubrovnik has gotten more expensive and definitely more crowded. Try Zagreb instead. Croatia’s capital isn’t the biggest city, but it makes up for it in charm: the colored houses, lantern posts that are still manually being lit and its warm climate will pull you in. Otherwise there’s still Gornji Grad, the upper/newer city center, with its cozy restaurants and shops and Donji Grad, the old historic city center. Beside the markets, churches and wine bars, there’s also the Museum of Broken Relationships. Yes, the museum was there before Netflix’s Broken Hearts Gallery. If you feel like that was a waste of your time, then check this fun fact: Zagreb has the shortest teleferic on earth: the trip will cost you 0,70€ and 55 seconds of your time, but hey, you don’t have to walk If you don’t want to. Talk about first world problems. If all of the above couldn’t convince you to visit Zagreb, then I have one more argument: every day at 12 o’ clock they shoot an actual canon ball up in the air.
