6. He acts with hypersensitivity

When an insecure man walks into a room and sees a group of people laughing, his first instinct is to assume they must be making fun of him. His ego is so fragile that neutral and even positive interactions are often perceived as slights. His ridiculous behavior creates a “walking on eggshells” environment that makes him virtually impossible to date. No girl wants to be put in a situation where she gets scolded for sending him a text that he deems “too short.”

7. He bathes himself in cologne

Admittedly, this one is more of an annoyance than actual self-destructive behavior, but it is nonetheless highly off-putting. Fragrances are intended to be enjoyed up close, not from across the room. Nonetheless, insecure guys feel the need to spray themselves with half a bottle of Sauvage because they really, really want the ladies to know they can afford a $100 cologne. But unfortunately for them, the only kind of look they get is the dreaded eyeroll.

Listen guys, we know you have insecurities, just as everybody does. But it doesn’t mean your personality traits have to be defined by those insecurities. Our advice is to just be yourself! There is bound to be a lucky girl out there who accepts you for who you are!
