4. They’re a pathological liar
There are folks in this world who can’t get through a single day without lying. We aren’t just referring to relationships either; lying consumes all aspects of their life whether it is at work, amongst their social circle, and especially to themselves! They may not even recognize their own deception, as lying is ingrained in their nature. So naturally, they will be inclined to cheat on their partner and then come up with an elaborate story to cover it up. They’re often so convincing that they can get away with it for months or even years, but eventually the evidence presents itself—the partner finds a text or happens to catch them in the act—and no amount of gaslighting will change that.
5. They’re unhappy with multiple aspects of their life
Those who cheat aren’t always doing it with the intention of hurting their partner. In fact, they really might love them. But when they face a litany of problems, whether it’s the stress of their job, financial issues, or even mourning the loss of an important person in their life, they will seek out others for comfort. They feel vulnerable. They’re looking to relieve their stress. And so unfortunately for the person being cheated on, this means they’re forming bonds with others that quite often turn romantic.
