Rather than disappearing without a trance, the slow fade involves communicating less and less until the other party realizes the interest is no longer there. While it isn’t as unsettling as ghosting, that doesn’t make it any less painful. After all, the question of why the person decided to distance themselves without explanation and after things had seemingly been going well is left unanswered.
3. Situationship Recycling
Situationship recycling is when a past flame returns to your life, and gives you false hope that the relationship might actually work this time even when they have absolutely no intention of committing themselves to you. They attempt to manipulate you by blaming you for the dysfunction, and then once they’ve gotten all that they want, they use this as a convenient excuse to break things off again. Until they come calling back again, that is.
