2. Showing a bit of male chivalry
Don’t get us wrong; we are ardent believers in progress. We know that girls aren’t helpless, feeble creatures who can’t function unless a guy does everything for them, but that doesn’t mean all of the practices of male chivalry need to go the way of the dodo bird. Instead of honking your horn or sending her a text notification that you’ve pulled up to her driveway, here’s a better suggestion: get out of your car, walk up to her front door, knock or ring the doorbell, give her a pleasant greeting, walk her to your car, open and close the door, and proceed to have a lovely date!

3. Not being distracted by smartphones
We’re going to preface this with a disclaimer: using Facebook and a smartphone to post a 1980s pic with the caption “not a smartphone in sight” is ridiculous, and the irony is apparently lost on those posters. As far as we’re concerned technology is peachy keen… but with some caveats! Scrolling through your Instagram account or responding to texts when your focus should be on getting to know your date is really bad form.
