How To Get The Most Out of Online Dating (2 of 3)

Get Rid of Pressure

I know people say that online dating should be treated as a springboard to an actual real-life date, and you should try meeting up as soon as possible. While that’s true to some extent, you don’t want to put pressure on yourself or the person you’re wanting to date. Meeting up with someone you’ve only met online can be scary and – let’s be honest – not without risk. It’s natural that some people will be a bit more reluctant and will need more time. Move at the speed of the slowest person, not at the speed you want things to go.

See it As An Opportunity

Dating, be it online or in real life, should always be seen as an opportunity. It’s not something where you absolutely need to have a result, so even if it leads nowhere, it’s a great chance to meet new people, learn more about people, and have interesting conversations with someone new. Every loss comes with a gain and this is no different in online dating. Being “friendzoned” or doing it to someone else doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Some people just work better as friends – and some people are just better off avoiding each other altogether.
