8. Luxembourg
Luxembourg is indeed among the smallest countries in Europe, although they will no doubt like to remind you that they’re still 16 times larger than Liechtenstein. Luxembourgers are happy because they live in a fairytale-like land, but with all of the modern amenities of a thriving cosmopolitan town. Among them are free nationwide public transportation, something few other countries can brag about. And thanks to the compact geography, the forests, river valleys, and quaint, historic hamlets are very accessible.
9. Switzerland
Clean air, Alpine mountains, and living in a picturesque town are just a few of the reasons why Switzerland reports a high level of satisfaction. In addition, the country’s infrastructure is reliable, the Swiss know how to maintain a proper work-life balance, and they get out as much as possible (summers are comfortable, winters aren’t crazy cold) so they can enjoy the outdoors.
