5. $1.6 billion — Neptune Beach, Florida — August 2023
Another winner from Florida. It was a quick pick ticket they purchased at a Publix supermarket. For the purposes of transparency, Florida law normally requires its winners to identify themselves publicly, but the savvy individual who received the lump sum payout of $794 managed to remain anonymous by creating an LLC called Saltine’s Holdings. Does this super-rich person own an island these days? Do they still shop at Publix? Seems we’ll never know.
4. $1.77 billion — Frazier Park, California — October 2023
The quiet mountain town of Frazier Park, California, prefers to keep a low profile, but when a group of 14 friends agreed to split the winning ticket purchased at the Midway Market and Liquor, it was kind of hard to keep that information under wraps. Theodoris Theostruck, who purchased the ticket that was shared amongst the group, has declined to grant interviews, so very little else is known about him, although neighbors have noted some upgrades to his house, along with enhanced security.
