6. Openly sharing your vulnerabilities
In the past, we kept our insecurities, fears, and anxieties bottled up out of fear that we would be judged. But then it became a vicious cycle where not showing our emotions would be the very thing that made us so emotionally unstable. But now, we recognize that expressing ourselves is a healthy way to release the tension. It also fosters a better level of understanding amongst friends and colleagues, and perhaps leads us to realize a lot of our insecurities and fears are unwarranted.
7. Choosing to be single
Making the conscious decision to remain single wasn’t easy in the past. Your friends and family would immediately bombard you with questions like, “Why haven’t you found anybody yet?” or “When are you going to start looking for that special someone?” It’s like they thought there was something wrong with you if you didn’t perceive relationships as the only thing that truly brings happiness. These days, being single can be a badge of honor. It demonstrates that you can find purpose in your life without needing a significant other to be a part of it. Singles use this time to explore themselves and build financial stability so they can settle down.
