8 Signs of Chronic Laziness (4 of 5)

6. Resistance to Change

Adjusting to new situations or embracing personal growth demands effort and flexibility, two traits that lazy people lack. Instead, they stick with what’s familiar, even when change could benefit them. While it’s natural for everybody to feel a bit anxious about the uncertainty that comes with transitions, lazy individuals simply resist them entirely. This resistance keeps them stagnant, limiting their ability to adapt or build meaningful relationships over time.

7. Reluctance to Help Others

Laziness isn’t always about selfishness. Indeed, lazy individuals are perfectly willing to donate money to a cause they believe in and be present in the lives of their spouses and children. But the reluctance to assist others manifests itself in different ways, such as declining to volunteer their time towards something, help a coworker meet a deadline, or take on extra tasks—especially if it means stepping outside their comfort zone.
