If the relationship is going well and the topic of marriage hasn’t come up yet, just be patient. It does you no good to ask us why we haven’t proposed when we only started dating you 6 months ago. On the other hand, if a couple of years have passed and we still haven’t brought it up, it’s perfectly fine to gently bring it up. If you’re reaching a point where settling down and getting married is more important to you than it is to the guy you’re dating, it’s probably time to move on.
