18 Methods To Strengthen Your Relationship (6 of 6)

Saying “I love you” through actions

Saying the words “I love you” can be good but not always. If you’re always saying it, it won’t make as much of an impact. And if you say it too little it might be hard for your partner to take it seriously. Regardless of how often you say it, putting those words into actions will be more helpful. The gestures don’t need to be massive or anything, rather small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Things like warming up the other’s car on a cold morning or scraping the frost off, ordering food from their favorite restaurant one night, making them breakfast, or even surprising them with something small.

Fight fairly

Fighting within relationships is going to happen. There will be disagreements that one another have. The biggest thing about fights though is what exactly your intentions are going to be. If you’re fighting in order to find some resolution, arguments and the tactics you’ll be using will ensure the relationship will remain intact. If you’re looking to get even, or for control, you won’t get it and it’ll only make matters worse. In the end, fighting fairly will ensure that disagreements won’t linger around forever and eat away at the relationship.

Have a couple goals

Couples are a team. It’s a partnership. So you should absolutely have a couple goals. These goals should be ensuring that both parties are moving in the same direction, that everyone wins, and that you can celebrate together every time a milestone is achieved.
