Home renovation projects

Taskrabbit Jobs, Gesture

If spending months in our little nests has convinced us of one thing, it is that our homes need renovations. Experts, however, are cautioning people against sanctioning new home renovation projects, as the cost of raw materials has gone up in recent months. Stuff like lumber and paint has seen a rapid increase in prices, and if you do not want to burn a hole in your pocket, consider delaying all renovation projects.

Owing to this sudden rise in prices, builders are often including escalation clauses in the contract, so that any rise in the price of materials has to be borne by the homeowners. If experts are to be believed, the home renovation cost has shot up by over 12% in one year.

Travel

After spending most of the time indoors over the last year or so, most people want to just pack their bags and head to their favorite destination as soon as they can. However, if you are thinking about buying a flight ticket for your destination, you might have to reconsider. The post-pandemic world is still recovering from the financial beating it took because of COVID, and that has led to higher-than-normal prices for all things, including travel.

Domestic airfare is costlier by around 9% since the first of April. Similarly, the price for international flights has gone up by close to 17%, according to experts. And if you were wondering if it is only the flights that are expensive, that’s not the case. Hotel prices have also shot through the roof this year, and you might be well off going to a nearby town by road for a little getaway, rather than visiting exotic locations.
