Objective tests

Standardized questionnaires or rating scales are used in objective tests to measure certain aspects of a person’s mental health. These tests are called “objective” because they have a standardized format, allowing for consistency in administration and interpretation.

Some of the most common objective tests include The Beck Depression Inventory, The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory, and other objective tests. These tests include various styles of testing that can measure anxiety levels, depression symptoms, personality traits, and psychological disorders.

Projective tests

Projective tests are some kinds of assessments that many people may be familiar with from popular culture. One style of projective test is the Rorschach Inkblot test, where individuals are shown a series of inkblots and asked to describe what they see. The responses are then analyzed for themes that may indicate psychological issues. The second style of projective test is called the Thematic Apperception test, which involves presenting individuals with a series of images depicting ambiguous scenes. Participants are then asked to interpret by creating a story about what is happening.
