9. Drink Less Alcohol

It’s obvious that drinking too much alcohol is bad for your health in so many ways. This is especially apparent as it relates to memory. For instance, students who engage in binge drinking (defined as having consumed 6 or more alcoholic beverages within a short period of time, either weekly or monthly) perform much worse on memory-recall tests vs students who aren’t binge drinkers. Who wouldn’t be happy to learn that consuming cocoa is not only delicious but extremely important for your health? Cocoa contains flavonoids, which are essential for brain function. In particular, it increases blood flow in the brain. Stick to dark chocolate though, preferably with a cocoa content of 70%. Subjects who ate white chocolate saw none of the benefits.
