4. Eggs help maintain your eyesight
As we age, we face the risk of health problems related to our eyesight including macular degeneration and cataracts. Eggs can help fend off these issues thanks to the generous amounts of vitamin A, zeaxanthin, antioxidants, and lutein.

5. For most people, eggs don’t raise “bad” cholesterol
Perhaps the greatest reason people might be hesitant to eat eggs is due to their high cholesterol content. Indeed, one large egg has around 186 mg of this super scary stuff! But how concerned should you actually be? According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), not so much. One study found that when subjects ate eggs, around 70% of them did not see an increase in cholesterol levels. Even for the remaining 30%, the amount their cholesterol rose was relatively mild. The takeaway: as with all foods, eat eggs in moderation.

6. Eggs raise good cholesterol
Aside from not increasing bad cholesterol levels in most people, consuming eggs can actually raise high-density lipoprotein levels, or “good” cholesterol. In fact, one study found that if you eat two eggs a day for six weeks, your HDL levels could increase by 10%. This is important as higher HDL levels protect against strokes and heart disease.
