6 Biggest Perks of Being a Work-At-Home Parent You Were Unaware Of (3 of 4)

4. You Can Do As Much Work As You Want

While this is slightly harder when you’re working in a company setting and have certain standards you have to uphold, we are still living in a world where most jobs are measured in hours per week. If you’re someone who works a bit faster and you get your full-time job done in about 30 hours, you could strategically have two half days or a full day where you don’t really need to do anything, while being in an office setting would “force” you to either work slower or invent work to keep yourself busy. As long as you reach your targets, what’s the harm? And if you want to get something extra done, you won’t have to worry about being home later or not catching your train.

5. Vacations Can Be Held in the Office

Yes, nobody’s denying that combining children and working from home isn’t going to be ridiculously hard. Just trying to handle these two huge responsibilities in a decent way will use up all of your mental energy. But where vacations used to mean getting out of the office, we’re now reaching a point where you’re already out of the office most of the time. As we mentioned earlier, as long as you have a Wi-Fi connection, you could be working anywhere. It’s probably not a good idea to do this on longer trips, but if you’re going someplace with a nice little house that has Wi-Fi for a few days, why even bother handing in vacation time? Workcations are all the rage now!
