The Enormous Celebrity Transformations Ever to Take Place in the History of Film and Music Industries (5 of 5)

ARIANA GRANDE

With a mass of luscious curls on her head and a snatched jawline, Ariana Grande rose to popularity when she played the role of the ‘popular yet dumb girl’ called Cat Valentine in the show Victorious which aired on Nickelodeon.

She has always had a babyface and managed to make millions of teenage followers. But as she only had a supporting role in the show, no one guessed what this dimpled black-haired actress with a sweet disposition had in store for us.

She became the Nickelodeon queen, (even though Victoria Justice played the lead role) and would sing a few lines here and there on the show. But that was it, all we ever grew up seeing was Ariana Grande as Cat, and nothing else.

NOW:

She is now one of the most popular singers in the industry. She created a disruption in the music industry with her songs and had a huge impact on pop culture. She flaunts long hair and a ponytail most of the time and is an anime fanatic.

With her amazing acting skills, nobody knew she could make it so big in the music industry. She usually wears girly, preppy outfits like thigh-high boots and flared mini skirts. She changed her hair numerous times- from black to red to blonde to brown.

Oh and her winged eyeliner – always on fleek. She carries her own unique style and is almost unrecognizable now.

JONAH HILL

THEN:

Jonah Hill Weight Loss, Dress shirt, Flash photography, Sleeve, Beard, Gesture

Jonah Hill started on his career with Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin (Yup, with Steve Carell) and rose to fame. He was always known for playing comical characters and had a humongous weight.

He confessed in an interview with Ellen saying that he was labeled as ‘fat’, ‘ugly’, ‘gross’, and ‘unattractive’ by the masses. Even though we tremendously adored him for the characters he played, he wasn’t an eye-candy to most of us.

He played supporting roles in ‘Just Add Water’ and ‘Rocket Science’, and was mostly viewed as a goofy, friendly actor. In his early days, he did struggle a lot with his obesity.

NOW:

If You Left Me At My Then You Dont Deserve Me At My, Chin, Shoulder, Muscle, Shorts, Beard, Fashion, Eyewear, Sleeve, Standing

Jonah Hill eventually bagged the leading role in Superbad and his career started to go uphill from here. He lost a significant amount of weight and is probably unrecognizable in the picture above.

He starred as some of the major lead roles in the recent movies, and even lent his voice in popular movies such as ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ and ‘Dragon Legends.’

His transformation has been commendable, with hundreds of articles such as Men’s Health writing about his success story in weight loss.

Be nice to the lonely, warm kid in your class, you never know whether he would grow up to be a star.

KYLIE JENNER

THEN:

Kylie Jenner 2012, Joint, Skin, Lip, Chin, Smile, Shoulder, Eyebrow, Eyelash, Lipstick, Neck

You’ll probably find this picture of her’s unrecognizable, but that’s only because she was. The youngest daughter of Kris and sister to Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, and Kendall, she only managed to make appearances in Keeping Up With the Kardashians whenever there was mischief or mishap.

Unlike her sisters, she did not make it too big when she was just in her teens. She dressed like any other girl in California did – strappy flats, frilly skirts, and tank tops. Her face was fuller with blunt features, and none of us thought she could grow up to be a beauty mogul.

When the world was introduced to Kylie Jenner, she was just a quiet tween with fuller bangs over the temple of her forehead, and that was about it.

NOW:

Kylie Jenner, Forehead, Hair, Joint, Skin, Lip, Chin, Hairstyle, Shoulder, Eyebrow, Eye

Not only has this quiet tween (oops, existential crisis much?) emerged as the most popular star ever, but was also labeled as the youngest billionaire (she was just 22) by Forbes. However, it was later found out that she had forged some of the data, and the title was snatched from her.

Regardless of that, she still boasts a whopping 181 million followers on Instagram and has her line of “Kylie Cosmetics” launched. She broke off her relationships with Tyga and Travis Scott and is the youngest mom in Hollywood. She has a baby daughter, named Stormi.

Kylie confessed of having undergone lip filler surgeries, and rumors are afloat that she might have undergone Gluteal Augmentation and Lift. She flaunts a much more snatched look than before, and she is now a well-known fashion icon in the industry.

The point isn’t these celebrities making it so big in the industry – but how they made it. The common feature in all of them is that they embraced their phases and personalities without any hesitation. They couldn’t care less about what people said, and that’s what helped their career skyrocket to its zenith.

If Taylor would have given up just because she was called a ‘plastic’ singer, or Kim would have just stepped down from the ladder because she was labeled ‘fake’ – none of them would have been able to build this enormous empire of their own as they did.

So if you are dreaming of inspiring people but feel you don’t have it in you- trust me, you do. You can lose twenty pounds, and you can make fame follow you. You just have to take the first step, everything else shall fall into place.
