A Comfortable Relationship

It didn’t take long for things to get serious between the couple. Once April 1987 had arrived, they could be spotted together publicly. Later that year on Christmas Eve, Bacon proposed to Sedgwick, who happily accepted. However, there was one issue that Kyra needed to bring up with Kevin: she wasn’t a fan of the engagement ring he had chosen. For his part, Bacon, who admittedly didn’t know much about jewelry, believed he had selected wisely. In any event, she felt comfortable enough to tell him what she thought about the ring, and he didn’t take offense. They returned to the jewelers so she could pick a replacement. They were married on September 4, 1988, and shortly thereafter started a family.

Building Family and a Career

Shortly after their marriage, Kyra and Kevin started a family. Their son, Travis, was born in 1989, followed by their daughter, Sosie, three years later. Both children have followed artistic paths of their own. Travis is a music composer, while Sosie has followed in her parents’ footsteps as an actress. Bacon’s 2006 directorial debut, Loverboy, was a true family affair. Sedgwick was the star of the movie, while the children had small roles.
