Community may appear to be an enjoyable experience for all participants, but Dan Harmon and Chevy Chase transformed the production into a master class in workplace dysfunction due to their ongoing conflicts over Chase’s character, Pierce Hawthorne. Their arguments eventually went from off-screen to public when Harmon led an insulting chant aimed at Chase during a wrap party. Chase, being an old dude who doesn’t really give a damn, responded with a furious voicemail, and Harmon later played it for an audience.

This whole mess led to Harmon being temporarily fired from his own show, while Chase eventually quit. The good thing is that somehow, Community survived both of those massive blows and still remains one of the fan-favorites.

Roseanne

Roseanne Barr, the star of the show (obviously), sought to have as much creative control as possible, arguing that the sitcom was based on her stand-up comedy and personal life. While that may be true, producer Matt Williams, who received a creator credit after developing and writing the pilot, refused to let her do that.

In response to that, Barr reportedly pushed for Williams to be removed from the show, and so he left during the first season. But the drama did not end there, as Barr started targeting other production segments with threats and constant power struggles. It did not look great, but somehow the show survived and even got a brief revival.
