6. George Clooney

George Clooney starred in, directed, co-wrote, and helped produce Leatherheads. And let’s just say he didn’t do it for the money. Sadly, audiences were not nearly as interested in this project as Clooney was. It had a budget of about $58 mil, and pulled in only a little over $41 mil. And so, what was supposed to be a stylish old-school comedy turned into a financial disappointment.

7. Rebel Wilson

Before Rebel Wilson became a household name, she had a small part in Bridesmaids, for which she reportedly made only $3,500. Then, similar to Sharon Stone, she had to spend that thick paycheck to participate in the whole movie-star machine: buying dresses, hiring stylists, a makeup artist, etc. While Bridesmaids did pave the way for her future career, her compensation was significantly lower.
