Following years of absence from the spotlight, Meghan Markle seems to be gradually reintegrating into the film industry, according to her own terms. The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly making a quiet return to Hollywood in Close Personal Friends, a new feature film directed by Jason Orley and featuring an ensemble cast that also includes Brie Larson and Lily Collins.
The project will be Meghan’s first time on a film set in about eight years, signaling a notable moment for her as she stepped away from acting after her marriage into the British royal family. Now 44, her involvement in the film has been described as a meaningful but modest return to acting, rather than a full comeback.
According to People, Meghan was seen on the set of the Amazon MGM Studios production earlier in November 2025. The film also stars Henry Golding and Jack Quaid and has been filming in both London and California. One source told the outlet that she has a small part, adding that “she seemed very relaxed and happy. She introduced herself to everyone and was very sweet and down-to-earth.”
While the details of her role are still limited, the tone around her presence on set is suggestive of comfort and familiarity, anything but nerves or apprehension. It’s a notable contrast from the highly scrutinized public life that Meghan has led in more recent years.
