Brendan Fraser
The first American-born actor to be inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame, Brendan Fraser had a reputation for taking on any movie role, whether it was a comedic performance, dramatic, or action. The three-time nominated 1998 film Gods & Monsters earned him solid praise, as did his portrayal of Rick O’Connell in The Mummy trilogy. However, in 2018, when he publicly revealed that Philip Berk, who had been the president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, assaulted him in 2003, he struggled to find roles. Fortunately, he made a comeback with The Whale, which earned him an Oscar for Best Actor, and he’s set to star in the 4th installment of The Mummy, planned for a late 2026 release.

Sondra Locke
The late trailblazing actress rose to stardom pretty quickly, earning an Academic Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for 1968’s The Heart is a Lonely Hunter at the age of 24. She also appeared in several movies in the 70s and 80s that went on to become box office successes. However, when her tumultuous 14-year relationship with Clint Eastwood came to an end, so did her career. She sued him on two occasions, the first time for palimony (which led to a settlement) and later for fraud. Her death in 2018 received little acknowledgement aside from a 15-second mention on ABC News, with neither that year’s Academic Awards telecast nor her co-stars through the years making any statements honoring her passing.
