Rebecca & Jack Pearson — This Is Us (2016–2022)
NBC’s This Is Us unfolds across multiple timelines, one of which traces the origin and evolution of Rebecca and Jack’s relationship. Their first encounter takes place in a dimly lit dive bar where the woman Jack’s supposed to meet never comes and Rebecca’s date is a disaster. When Jack spots her singing on stage, he’s instantly drawn in. It is clear they have chemistry, setting the stage for one of the show’s most poignant romances. Because of the show’s non-linear structure, their final shared scene comes earlier than viewers expected, in Season 2, following a house fire that devastated their family home. They have what appears to be an ordinary, hopeful conversation, with Jack appearing to recover from smoke inhalation. But tragedy follows soon after, as Jack dies of a sudden heart attack, a loss that haunts us for the rest of the series.
