10. Lizzo
Amidst her sudden rise to stardom, Lizzo opted for a hiatus from social media in 2020, explaining that she had gotten tired of dealing with all of the trolls taking shots at her body type. The Grammy-winning artist, renowned for her empowering messages of self-love, recognized the need for a break from the pressures of the digital realm. She subsequently returned a year later, but in late March 2024 declared that she was “quitting.” Although many had speculated that this cryptic message was meant to announce her retirement from the music industry altogether, she “unretired” a week later and was back to her old social-media posting ways.

11. Chrissy Teigen
In March 2021, the model and author stepped back from social media…but rather than it being the result of being bullied, it was Teigen herself who was accused of being a troll. A habit of making statements that came off as harassing in some cases and tone-deaf in others resulted in plenty of backlash. She has since offered apologies for her behavior and has largely avoided further controversy.
