8 Actors and Actresses Hollywood Refuses to Cast Anymore (2 of 5)

Roseanne Barr

Roseanne Barr has been controversial and unapologetically brash for decades, but it didn’t stop her from being the star of one of the highest-rated sitcoms of the late 80s/early 90s. She caused quite a scene in the late 80s when she belted out an offkey version of the national anthem at a baseball game and capped things off by spitting on the ground and “adjusting” her imaginary athletic cup, but most people were like, “That’s just Roseanne being Roseanne.” But when she wrote a racist tweet about Valerie Jarret, a senior advisor to former President Barack Obama, that was a bridge too far for all but the Trumpiest of specimens. Her Roseanne reboot was canceled that same day and her comeback was seemingly tanked, although we as a society tend to be pretty forgiving of even the worst among us.

Kevin Spacey

Kevin Spacey was regarded as one of the greatest contemporary actors in Hollywood due to the seemingly effortless work he put into mastering the craft. With a pair of Academy Awards for Best Actor under his belt and critical acclaim that continued through the mid-2010s as the main star of the Netflix original series “House of Cards,” he appeared unstoppable. But since allegations of sexual misconduct from multiple individuals came to light in 2017, Hollywood has avoided him like the plague.
