Recasting “Xena: Warrior Princess” for Today: Imagining Hollywood’s Current Stars in Iconic Roles

When it comes down to it, few characters stand as tall and as memorable as the ones we saw on the campy 90s series Xena, the Warrior Princess. The show, a unique mix of action, drama, and mythical storytelling, still enjoys a cult following more than two decades after the grand finale aired. But let’s imagine what a reboot of this series would look like with the current cream of Hollywood’s talented crop. With that in mind, here is our dream cast if the show were remade today.

1. Xena – Florence Pugh

Ever lovely and always delightful, the extremely talented Florence Pugh would be a no-brainer for the titular role of Xena. With mesmerizing performances like “Little Women” and “Midsommar” under her belt, Pugh has proven herself capable of mastering complex characters. Xena, with her strength, resilience, and emotional depth, would provide a new challenge for this versatile actress. Of course, this role also requires physical capabilities, which Pugh no doubt possesses. The action scenes, a core part of Xena’s character, would be quite an addition to this actress’s already impressive resume.
