The 7 Best Movies Where The Hero is Also the Villain (3 of 4)

The Prestige

The second Christian Bale movie on this list. This movie is twice as special since the movie has two protagonists (played by Bale and Hugh Jackman) who are actually both their own worst enemy. The two magicians are so busy trying to upstage the other one that they completely destroy their own lives in the quest for being the greatest. Eventually, they both end up being villains that don’t really win anything by the end of the movie.

Fight Club

The greatest cinematic reveal in history apart from Darth Vader being Luke Skywalker’s father would be when Tyler Durden and The Narrator end up being the same person. And while Ed Norton and Brad Pitt certainly give the characters their own spin, their performances are so amazing and it just lifts the movie up to an amazing level. Probably one of the best movies about self-destruction that’ll ever get made.
