Best 25 Sad Movies To Have A Good Cry (2 of 5)

A Walk to Remember (2002)

Walk To Remember, Smile, Skin, Lip, Chin, Eyebrow, Facial expression, Product, Publication, Happy, Eyelash

It’s a rom-com from the early 2000s so expect it to be really cheesy. But even if that’s the case, it still is a tear-jerker when you see Jamie (Mandy Moore) and Landon (Shane West) fall in love despite everything that happened and against the backdrop of Jamie’s illness.

Inside Out (2015)

Inside Out Cast, Cartoon, Poster

Yes, it’s a Pixar movie, but like a lot of the animated films meant for kids, there are some adult elements to it. But this particular film is a notable one since it goes into depth with human emotions. Pixar is exceptional at drawing out emotions that get right to the heart of the human experience. You don’t want to miss out on watching this one.

Ingrid Goes West (2017)

Ingrid Goes West 2017, Purple, Poster, Eyelash

At first glance, this film leans more towards a social-media romp than a tearjerker. It also doesn’t help that the film does quick pans through the Los Angeles of influencer culture and thinks it’s a comedy too.

But when you look past all of that, you’re left with a simple story: here is a young woman who has such a hard crush on someone that they’d craft a fake identity.

Without spoiling anything, this does not end very well and it is worse than what you could imagine.

The Notebook (2004)

Notebook Movie, Hair, Facial expression, Happy, Gesture, Eyelash

It’s a romance film, but it’s also a heart-wrenching one. Of course in a sad movie list, The Notebook is going to make an appearance. It’s a glorious film that tracks a couple from youthful intoxication to old age and still is so emotionally potent. We wouldn’t be surprised you’d cry when you hear the phrase “it’s not over.”

Bambi (1942)

Bambi Dvd Cover, Cartoon

Of course, this film has been redone many times over and for good reason, Walt Disney delivered a fantastic story through this film and it still holds up. And yes, while this follows a baby deer who makes friends along the way, it still has the tragedy of him being separated from his mother. That scene alone still is traumatic as it was when you were little.
