Dogs That Got Weird for the Camera

Dogs have been our animal companions for a very long time. All those centuries together have created a special bond with these canines, sometimes it seems we know them better than other humans! At just like the people close to us, we’re acutely aware of our pup’s quirks, awkward moments, and weird behaviors. These dogs aren’t camera shy when it comes to creating photographic memories. Y’know, the kind that will capture their unparalleled weirdness until the end of time! Your dog might be smart, well-trained, and groomed to perfection; but he’s sure to have an awkward moment every now and again.

Pet owners are sharing the strange and funny things they’ve caught their dogs doing

She’s Posing for Pup Comfort Monthly

Speaking of dreams, what do you think your pet is dreaming of when they sleep? Maybe it’s to finally catch their tail? Perhaps it’s to make friends with everyone at the dog park! Maybe, just maybe, it’s to be the leggiest supermodel the world has ever seen! That, or, they’re just getting a headstart on their morning stretches.

Dream big, dream long, and strut! It’s always fun to see what weird and wild positions our dogs fall asleep in. Just like us, they’re always twisting in turning when something interesting is happening. The best part of this pic isn’t just the pose, it’s that this lap dog is laying right on top of someone else! She’s ready to be a diva on the catwalk!

The Pug That Laid The Golden Egg?

Did you know that ostriches put their heads in the sand to check on their nest? What’s also neat is that sometimes different animals like to play along! We seriously doubt this pug just laid an egg, but if so, they better hope it’s made of gold because that’s a trick you can take to the bank! However, the more time animals spend with each other, the more fun little habits they may try to mimic.

In addition to being naturally curious, lots of dogs love to dig, play, and hide stuff in the ground. Some a bit more than others! Pugs are also known to become really attached to their families. Maybe this lil’ gal is helping rescue someone’s phone that fell down a really tiny well! That’s really considerate. Someone get her a treat!

Can A Pokemon Actually Devolve?

Evolution is complicated, fascinating, and showcases a species ability to adapt and become masters of their environment. Whether it’s thicker fur to protect against the cold or a tactic to make them look bigger to ward off predators, it’s generally to the animal’s advantage. What happens when it works in reverse? Could that be the case with this fluffy pup?

Spoiler alert; this is not a lesson in evolution. However, when you take your living cotton ball to the groomer for a bath, it’ll go in looking adorable only to instantly melt in the water. We didn’t even know that Pomeranians were part cotton candy! Talk about a sweet (and slightly terrifying) surprise.

You Ordered Well-Done, Right?

Everyone knows that dogs have their favorite object. Whether it’s a squeaky toy or a blanket, a lot of pups have that one security item that just makes their day a little bit better. But what’s a dog interested in cuisine supposed to carry around? Oh, that’s right, their favorite cast iron skillet!

That old cart adage of, “If I fits I sits” clearly applies to this little puppy. This cooking aficionado wants everyone to know that this pan is his and nobody can take it from him. One of these days he may even compete on Iron Chef America, or maybe a home cooking show would be more his speed. For now, we just hope he washes it between meals.

She’s Part Parrot Or Something

Let’s start this off by saying: ALWAYS ADOPT WHEN YOU CAN. All dogs need a home, even those that are part shepherd and part something else. This is especially the case when you have a chance to adopt a rare cross-species breed! Have you ever seen a dog be mixed with a parrot? What about one that was part meerkat? Either way, something is definitely unique about this guard dog.

While it may look like they’re taking their house-sitting duties really seriously, there may actually be a simpler explanation. Perhaps the family is really into Animal Planet or anything narrated by James Attenborough? That would explain the learned animal behavior. That, or, maybe this dog is actually a nanny cam in disguise? Perhaps it’s actually a couch dog’s security buddy!

Very Funny, Now Take The Mask Off

Every year in October, dogs compete in shows, parades, and other fun Halloween events. Some go for silly, others pretty, and some go for downright terrifying! No matter what category he’s in,  this pooch is definitely taking home first prize. This isn’t a creepy costume or pair of fake teeth though! His jowls just spread out over his favorite toy, revealing those beautiful pearly whites.

It looks like even our pets get into the Halloween spirit! Well, maybe they do. We’re not sure, but we do know that this little guy is only pretending to wear a mask! If he wanted to, he’d make a great extra in the cutest version of The Barking Dead. Someone call his agent!

Okay, Wait, Take It Again! I’ll Smile!

Getting a group of friends or family to all smile at the same time can be as simple as “1,2,3, cheese!”, but at other times it may take a few snaps to get just the right shot. Every now and then it only takes one photo to get the most beautiful smile on film forever! No matter how many times this took, this smile shows that this picture perfect beauty fits right in with the family!

Underbites are super common with dogs, and can even be more common in certain breeds. Our favorite family friends have also been known to mimic people and can even be trained to smile in a photo. Some studies also indicate that dogs can smile when they’re feeling, safe, relaxed, and content with their environments!

Spider-Dog Is On The Way!

Spider-Dog, Spider-Dog, runs much faster than a hog! Watch him climb, super high! Gonna go, jump in the sky! Off the wall, here I soar, time to go play some more! Catch the birds, maybe now, see a friend, howl and howl! Spider-Dog, Spider-Dog, time to go jump off logs!

This adventurous suburban sledder is full of so much energy that they’re literally bouncing off the walls! In fact, did you know that huskies can regulate their metabolism to help get an increase in energy when they need or want it the most! With all that bounce in their step, they would be one of the coolest super-dogs! That is if you can keep them from using the walls like a trampoline.

When Dad’s Making Your Favorite Meal

We’ve all been there: we’re sent outside to play and can’t come back inside until the streetlights turn on. No? Just us and this unblinking drool machine? Okay, that’s fine. Just imagine if you’re cleaning up inside and turn to see your furry family member staring straight at you like this!

Just like humans, sometimes a dog’s mind can just wander away for a minute. They can dream, so why not daydream, too? That or they’re seeing their favorite treat being opened and they’re just in a daze at how delicious and close it is, but still so far away. We get the same look when it’s dinnertime, too.

Downward Dog Is For Beginners

Doing the splits requires diligent work, practice, and just a little bit of skill. While it takes some people weeks, and others years, eventually many can become flexible enough to pull off this trick. When it comes to dogs, some are just faster learners than others. Though with an expression that says, “What? This is really easy.” it seems as though this pooch has been sneaking in some time at the gym.

While not as impressive with four legs, this is still something that deserves a round of applause. Don’t go for the ovation though, because there’s a simple explanation here. When it comes to tiles and paws, traction is the name of the game. This labradorable pal may just be letting gravity do all the work.
