Buy The Right Size

These dudes were planning on fitting a full-size air mattress inside the tent. However, they were in for a shock when they realized the thing was way too big for their tent.
And obviously, when they thought they should take it out, it was just stuck there. We wouldn’t want to be in such a situation – and we are sure no one will.
So, these dudes were stuck in a situation where they cannot use the mattress or the tent! If you are planning a camping trip anytime soon, please learn from this and make sure you get a mattress that is smaller than the tent you will use.
Hammock?
Most of us love chilling out on a hammock; reading a book or just closing our eyes and enjoying the serene nature. But in order to have all that, you are first supposed to know the ways to put it up properly at both the ends. You should also be idealistic about your weight and the amount your hammock can hold.
If you don’t, you will end up just like this dude who turned what seemed like a beautiful day into a nightmare for himself. We hope this person wasn’t too badly injured. You should have a fair idea of how to tie your hammock properly before you head out on that long-planned camping trip. That is camping 101.
That’s A Mess

Look, we get it – camping isn’t meant for everyone. But when you have made that leap, at least be prepared to set up a decent camp where you can relax and unwind instead of wasting all your time figuring out the right way to set it up.
If you love learning new things, you will find that it isn’t that difficult. If you aren’t, well, you get this.
Maybe this person should have just stayed inside that RV or motorhome. Setting up a tent isn’t this guy’s forte; it seems.
What A Kite
This photo makes us wonder if this person did not put the spikes all together or they took the spikes off at the wrong time. The real challenge is how they are going to bring that tent down.
Maybe they were planning on flying this thing as a kite, we can never know.
This photo shows us how nature can mess up our plans anytime, and you need to be extra careful to avoid such situations. So, always choose the right sort of tent and then, set up your tent where there are natural barriers to break the flow of wind.
Follow The Rules

We all face difficulty in choosing the right place for our camping site. This person, however, seems confident of his choice and isn’t going to let some man made laws interfere with his camping experience.
Also, that ‘no camping’ notice board can be a great tool to tie the tent with. Honestly, while you might get your little kick in setting up a tent where you aren’t allowed to set up one, you will be soon asked to remove it.
So, better set up your camping site where no one disturbs your peace. After all, that’s the whole point of camping!
A Tricky Situation
At least half of the tent fails are easy because of the water. Nature can use rain or water in any form to ruin that camping trip of yours in no time.
This dude definitely chose the wrong spot to put up his camp, or he was just unlucky to not know a heavy rainstorm was headed this way.
If you wish to avoid such a murky situation, always go for waterproof tents. Also, you should make sure there are no rain forecasts on the day you are venturing out if you don’t want to wake up at night because of the downpour.
Form Matters

We’ll be honest here. While that tent looks stunning from afar, it isn’t going to do its primary job properly, which is to keep you safe and provide shelter.
Form matters over function any day, and this is a perfect example. Manufacturers these days often try to use cheap materials and make beautiful-looking tents instead of providing a robust tent that keeps one safe in the wild. This tent, while being totally visually appealing, is not going to work against rain, wind, or wild animals.
That, or maybe it was meant this way in order to allow people to stargaze. One can also lie outside and enjoy the stars, but hey, to each his own!
Creativity Always Works
Whoever has set this up has one of the most creative brains out there. To be fair, this shouldn’t be a part of this list, since this is a ‘fails’ compilation and this one isn’t a failure. It is a technical failure as it is not set up in the way it should be, but that person clearly found a better way to make it work.
Honestly, this is what camping should be. Not everything goes as per plan and one needs to be ready to face any situation head-on.
These dudes are a failure technically speaking, but a thumbs up from us in the true spirit of camping!
Camping Done Right

We cannot figure out if this tent was set up this way or the person couldn’t secure the tent properly. But one thing is for certain – this isn’t one who gets to enjoy a nice stay in the tent.
If the tent isn’t secured properly, the wind will try to blow it over, and that is precisely what happened in this case. If you repeat the same mistake, you will end up with a camping experience that consists of lots of running in the woods, trying to get hold of your tent!
And for bad runners, this situation could turn into a nightmare as you might lose your tent in the middle of the night and end up staying out in the cold.
Final Word
Camping should be a fun, relaxing, and thrilling experience but as we’ve seen from these fails, you should be ready before you head out on a camping trip in order to save yourself from any potential tricky situation. The worst part is that if you do end up in a difficult situation and you are all alone, it might take a while for help to get there. This is why you should go through everything carefully and be ready to face any difficult situation in a brave way. Enjoy your camping trip and stay happy!
