From Titanic To Get Out – These 11 Iconic Movies Almost Got Completely Different Endings (4 of 4)

Fight Club, 1999

Brad Pitt Fight Club, Coat, Flash photography, Gesture

How it ends: Director of the movie, David Fincher was quite accurate when it came to following the original material, which was the book written by Chuck Palahniuk. However, he did change the movie’s ending. We see in the film Marla (played by Helena Bonham Carter) and Jack (Edward Norton) accept each other and hold each other’s hands as the world finally collapses.

Alternate ending: The book is not romantic, and in fact, offers a dark ending where (Edward Norton/Brad Pitt) ends up in an asylum and has attendants on all sides who are trying their best to save the leader as they continue the war against society. We are shown Tyler Durden meeting his death, which ends things on a rather sad note in the movie.

Titanic, 1998

Titanic Movie, Kiss, Flash photography, Gesture

How it ends: While the movie is a three and a half-hour long classic, the ending is what makes this flick iconic. As you know, the movie ends by revealing that Rose kept that necklace – the one that the crew was desperately searching for – and in the final scene of the film, throws it away, so that it lays to finally rest with Jack, her lover.

Alternate ending: A deleted scene from the movie went viral earlier this year where we got to see a different final scene that was quite terrible, to be honest. It showed Rose giving the necklace to Brock Lovett, the treasure hunter, who is quite happy by finally getting his hands on the necklace. However, when he sees Rose’s eyes, he realizes that the necklace doesn’t really hold any value. Rose then suddenly grasps it and throws it back into the depths of the ocean in what can be described as a cringe and comical scene. We’re glad they didn’t make this the ending of this classic movie!
