Monroe was a fashion idol for many and her death shocked her fans and the people she had inspired. She was only 36 when she passed away following an overdose of drugs. She was found lying lifeless on her bed with several empty bottles of insomnia pills.

To the audience, her life appeared all glamorous and perfect. However, the reality was far from that. She had been dealing with depression for a long time. As speculated, it was the pressure of being a public figure that took a toll on her mental health.

Price is another one of the great artists whose lives got ruined due to heavy abuse of intoxicating substances. As per reports, it was found out that he had over-consumed fentanyl and that was the sole cause behind his death. It is sad to note that he had an appointment booked with a therapist right the day after he succumbed to his addiction.

Price chose to keep his personal issues away from the media and his addiction was also not known to anyone. He had told his close friends that he regularly took painkillers, but nobody could guess he was addicted to them.

He used to have intense pain in his hips and was reliant on narcotic painkillers for relief, his ex-wife Manuela Testolini had shared. They had been married for 5 years before separating in 2006.

Price’s family blamed his doctor and took him to court with claims that his overprescription led to the singer’s addiction and eventual death.

Sia didn’t even realize how her moderate drinking turned into an addiction. She would also occasionally consume oxycodone or Vicodin which gradually became an everyday need. Sia shared that her addictions were due to the many struggles she faced in her initial days.

However, after she decided to give up her habits, she became more confident and accepting of herself.

When she was on The Late Late Show, she revealed that she had been working as a singer for over 10 years and had gotten mediocre success. This led her to heavy drinking and drugs. She explained that the little fame she was getting was, in a way, making her destabilized.

However, she worked on herself and it’s been 9 years now since she is out of her addiction. Sia has also now got more recognition for her artistic talent.

 

 

Demi Lovato

Demi’s music is as praiseworthy as their addiction was resentful. Their battle with substance abuse has served as fuel to paparazzi headlines in the past and it is no secret. After several attempts to get past their addictions with rehab therapy, Lovato has finally recovered. In an interview, they admitted that they were merely 17 when they first used an illegal substance.

To mark their 6 six years of staying away from addictive substances, while addressing a crowd in Brooklyn in 2018, they shared that their addiction was uncontrollable six years before. They would fill Sprite bottles with vodka and drink morning and night and throw up at every place. One day, they realized that they were wrecking their life for no reason and decided to get past this habit.

Although they did relapse during mid-2018 and were hospitalized from overdosing on fentanyl and oxycodone, the incident further opened their eyes to how threatening it could get.

 

 

Daniel Radcliffe

Daniel’s remarkable performance in the Harry Potter series impressed many. He was quite young, but portrayed the character to perfection. Maybe it was due to work pressure at such a tender age or some personal issues, Radcliffe couldn’t keep himself from drinking. He shared once that his addiction was totally out of hand during the shooting of the final three flicks of the series. He further added that he was “inconsolable” when the filming was coming to an end.

The constant worries and loneliness further worsened his condition.

Radcliffe added that he was insecure with the person he had become and that he didn’t want to stay sober. We are glad he sought help and has become better and more responsible with age.
