Doutzen Kroes

Doutzen was an ordinary college girl in Holland, but she liked getting clicked. To make some money, she sent a few of her snaps to a modeling agency and they chose her immediately.
In an interview with Telegraph, she revealed that it was quite adventurous for her to move to New York to pursue her career. She had stayed in her hometown most of her life except a short trip to Amsterdam.
She became a Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2008 and has been seen on numerous runways. She has also bagged campaigns of popular brands such as Valentino, Stuart Weitzman, and Balmain.
Tyra Banks
Although Banks is very successful and well-known in the modeling industry now, it wasn’t so easy for her when she was starting out. Several fashion agencies refused to sign her up on the grounds that they already had someone black. Those rejections didn’t deter her determination and she eventually got signed with Elite.
Malaika Firth

Malaika revealed to i-D that she was not discovered by anyone as such. It was her mother who phoned Premier Models agency to get Malaika signed with them. After seeing her pictures, they agreed immediately.
In the very same year, Firth became the only black female in the past 19 years to grab a Prada campaign; the last being the iconic model, Naomi Campbell.
Malaika has walked the ramp showcasing creations from Bottega Vinetta, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and Marc Jacobs. She was also roped in by Victoria’s Secret in 2013.
Chanel Iman
Chanel herself revealed that she always wanted to make a career in modeling. Therefore, when she had turned 13, she along with her aunt, paid visits to a few modeling agencies in their hometown, Los Angeles. It was only within a matter of a few weeks that Chanel was signing a contract with Ford.
She was so good at her job that Victoria’s Secret roped her in for their campaigns and runway shows. Her other achievements include being the campaign face for Ralph Lauren, DKNY, and Dolce & Gabbana among many others.
Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy’s popularity skyrocketed when she modeled for Sports Illustrated. However, she was discovered long ago while she was at her job in a surf shop at Huntington Beach in California. At that time, she wasn’t convinced she’d find success. She told Vegan magazine that it seemed close to impossible to achieve for somebody having as many insecurities as her.
In the year 2010, Teigen was Sports Illustrated Rookie Of The Year and even appeared on their anniversary magazine cover. For now, she has signed with IMG Models and also hosts Lip Sync Battle. Her cookbook was a New York Times bestseller.
