The Eternals

Eternals 2020 Poster

With the Avengers having their final film together, you might be missing the ensemble Marvel movies. Well fortunately, directors figured that much and found another superhero team for us to be following: The Eternals. In this film, we’ll be following this group, which features amazing actors like Angelina Jolie, Kit Harington, Kumail Nanjiani and more as they play as a group of immortal superheroes whose very presence shaped the history of Earth. This film is expected to come out in early November this year.

Untitled Spider-Man Film

At the time of writing this we don’t have the title of this new film, though that’s kind of to be expected, since both Marvel studios and Sony had a bit of a dispute over Tom Holland’s Spider-Man after the second film. Fortunately, both parties reached an agreement and we’ll be seeing the web slinger appear in not only one, but at the very least two more movies. This third film, picking up the cliffhanger from the second part, will be coming out in early November.

Mission: Impossible 7

Mission Impossible 7 Trailer

2021 is a big year for Tom Cruise. Not only is he going to be in Top Gun: Maverick (as mentioned earlier), he’ll be returning to play his most iconic character in the seventh installment of this spy franchise. We don’t know much about the plot except for two things. The first is that Ethan Hunt is expected to do some of the most insane stunts we’ve ever seen. Naturally, Cruise is known for doing most of his own stunts and this time it’s no different. The second is that he is to be facing off with one of the notoriously dangerous characters in this franchise that is to be played by Hayley Atwell.

And if this film gets you excited for more, well don’t worry. The 8th instalment of this franchise is slated for November 2022. As for this film – it’ll be coming out mid November this year.

West Side Story

West Side Story Movie Poster 2020

One of the most iconic musicals of all time is getting some much-needed film polish since it’s first adaptation in 1961. Directed by Steven Spielberg, this film will be following the plot of the stage production of a 1950’s New York City version of Romeo and Juliet. While Ansel Elgort steps into the role of Tony, the real excitement is stemming around the newcomer Rachel Zegler. Plucked right out of high school, her name went from obscurity to playing the iconic role of Maria. We won’t see how well she’ll fare until the film comes out in early December this year.

The Matrix 4

Matrix 4 2021

Though we’ll have to wait until 2022 to see the next John Wick film, we’ll still get a chance to swoon over Keanu Reeves earlier than that in the next Matrix instalment. As far as plot goes, it’s a closely guarded secret for now, but it’ll be interesting to see what sort of take this film will go in after the story ended almost 20 years ago. This film is expected to be out a few days before Christmas 2021.
