Revisiting the absolute worst and cringiest movies of the past 60 years (2 of 12)

Monster a Go-Go!: 1965

Monster A Go Go Movie, Poster

This film is essentially a montage of static shots of people talking. And talking. And some more talking. Aaah yes, an astronaut who returns from space as a monster? Or the monster kills him and comes to earth? Either way, this film proves to be a strong contender to be crowned the worst among the movies listed.

Manos – The Hands of Fate: 1966

Manos Coloring Book, Human, Font, Poster

This “horror” movie is so legendarily bad that while restoring this masterpiece, some peeps at Comedy Central questioned how it came to be known as a movie. It does feature a pagan cult and human sacrifice, but still evokes a few laughs instead of horror.

Valley of the Dolls: 1967

Criterion Collection Valley Of The Dolls, Hair, Hairstyle, Happy, Pink

This film was based on a novel that was supposed to show the life of women, but despite having three female protagonists it is just so artificial that it is hard to believe the actors mouthing their lines. The reason why it makes the list is to show what feminism was supposedly sold as.

They Saved Hitler’s Brain: 1968

They Saved Hitler's Brain

This movie is trash. But it is also a classic. Who doesn’t want to see Hitler’s head in a jar, scowling at all who lay eyes on it in the backseat of a car? Ohh and this movie has a perfect Rotten Tomatoes rating- a perfect 0.

Change of Habit: 1969

Change Of Habit 1969 Poster

This Elvis Presley starrer sets the bar really low with dialogues such as “She is as black as the ace of spades”. The film features the King of Rock n Roll as a doctor and it does feature some beautiful music, so maybe not all is lost with this flick.
