How to eliminate fish odor when throwing fish away:
Freeze your fish. If your fish is past its freshness date, tossing it into the kitchen waste can is a super bad idea. Instead, toss it into the freezer until the day the garbage folks come to collect your trash.
Throw as little away in the first place. For whatever reason, a lot of people just assume fish can’t be eaten later as leftovers. But like any other meat, cooked fish can stay in your fridge for a couple of days and still be perfectly edible and delicious.
Got a little bit of uncooked fish sitting around and not sure what to do with it?
Why not use it to make a fish soup or creamy chowder?
If you have cooked fish leftovers, you can make tacos or sandwiches with it the next day.
If you have more salmon than you can eat, serving it up cold with some crackers or toast the following day makes for a perfect hors d’oeuvre.
